Director of Operations and Program Development

Aaron holds a Master’s Degree in Sports Science and Health and Fitness Management and is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Aaron is a former strength and conditioning coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He also has a wide range of clinical experience within the orthopedic field. He has developed and implemented on/off season throwing programs for a number of professional athletes.

Strength & Conditioning

Phil was raised in Southern California where he grew up playing any and all sports that he was able.  His love of baseball and the University of Michigan took him to Ann Arbor where he graduated as a four-year letter winner in the sport and earned a Bachelor of Science in Movement Science. He continued his baseball career when he was given the opportunity to play professional baseball for an independent professional club, the Traverse City Beach Bums, in the Frontier League.Phil is currently a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, and he has trained clients ranging from age eight to 86.

Amanda Sicard MS, CSCS (email)
Strength & Conditioning

Amanda earned her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology at Western Michigan University.  She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College for Sports Medicine (ACSM).  Her emphasis is on sports performance, functional training, high-intensity training, corrective exercise, and weight loss.

David Gerstel PT, MPT (email)
Owner/Physical Therapist

David graduated from Shenandoah University with a masters in physical therapy and has been practicing orthopedic and sports medicine since 1994. David was also the chief instructor for for injury prevention and instruction of back programs and ergonomic assessments for all departments of Penrose Community Hospital from 1999-2002.  David was a physical therapist for the United States Power lifting & Weightlifting Federations. He was lead PT for the 1997 National Junior Weight Lifting Championships at NAU Flagstaff, AZ.

David also founded The Gerstel Cancer Foundation in 2002, a 501 (3) (c) non-profit. Current plans are to raise money for cancer rehab, cancer rehab research, and cancer research.

Areas of clinical interest include the shoulder and knee, as well injury prevention training.  As the owner of Spectrum Rehabilitation, David is committed to providing the community with the highest level of rehabilitative care with an emphasis on wellness.  In addition, David has served as a volunteer to many organizations, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Down Syndrome Association.

David also has 20 years of Martial Art’s experience as a student, competitor, and instructor. As an instructor, David sent over 50 student’s to National championships where many placed and won in their divisions. David has studied many forms of martial arts and received his 2nd degree black belt in Seishin Kai / Shito Ryu / Go-Shindo (Aki-juijitsu).  David also competed in the South Carolina State Palmetto Games winning Gold in Kumite (fighting) & the Georgia Tour of Champions sweeping Gold in Kumite and Kata (forms).

Amanda Doughty PT, CMT (email)
Physical Therapist

Amanda graduated in 1989 from Northern Arizona University's Physical Therapy program.  She worked in Boston for 3 years(acute rehab, spinal cord unit and out-pt rehab) while she became an avid jogger and successfully finished the Boston Marathon twice.  She worked at Sport and Spine center for 14 years in outpatient rehab and has now been with Spectrum Rehab since 2005. She has been certified through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy as a certified manual therapist and enjoys treating orthopaedic patients and high functioning neurologic clients.  She enjoys river rafting and river canoeing, jogging, hiking, biking and raising her 2 children all with her husband (and beacon of light) of 16 years.


Kristin Tognetti PT, DPT, MTC (email)
Physical Therapist

Kristin received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2008 and received her B.S. from The University of Michigan in 2005.  She recently earned her Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) through the University of St. Augustine.  Kristin enjoys working with kids and athletes of all ages and skill levels.  She is a manual therapist and works in both the pool (aquatic therapy) and the gym. In her spare time, Kristin enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, hiking, snowboarding, running with her dog, and playing soccer.
