About Max Performance

The popularity of sports in America has never been higher. With the ever-increasing number of participants on the field and in the gym, more athletes have been training harder and training longer. However, with increasing levels of intensity in training programs, injuries have also been on the rise, many of which could have been prevented if certain weaknesses had been identified prior to training. Thus, Max Performance was created in 2005 when owner David Gerstel recognized a growing need for a performance development program that included an injury prevention protocol.

At Max Performance, every athlete is evaluated by a licensed physical therapist in a full orthopedic screen before the start of any training program. This information is then used to help design a training program customized to the needs of the athlete. Knowing that they are training not only for their chosen sport, but also to improve on their specific muscle imbalances and weaknesses, athletes at Max Performance can train with the confidence that the chance of injury is significantly lower. This “medical model” training program is still the only one of its kind in Colorado Springs, and our development team is proud to make it available to local, state, and nationwide athletes alike.
